Yesterday while I was walking the dog around my apartment complex, this lady, holding a cigarette and a beer, ran up to me and said, "Hey neighbor, did you try this yet?"
The cigarette? The beer? No, wait, she's holding a bright yellow Furminator in her hand.
The Furminator is an expensive but effective dog brush, and the woman is a dog trainer who had previously recommended the Furminator to me. Because Freda has a dense undercoat, she frequently goes through "blow outs" where she will lose large clumps of fur at a time. The Furminator (which I like to call Das Furminator...mostly because it makes me giggle) is designed to get rid of that undercoat. After brushing Freda for half an hour with that thing, I'll have a huge pile of fluffy dog fur. I could seemingly keep brushing forever and never be done with Freda's husky fur.
Now, I'm lazy, so I don't brush Freda as often as I should. I've grown accoustomed to finding a dog hair in my glass of water, as well as all over everything that I own. You get used to it. But, for those people who do not like living in a nest of animal fur, the Furminator is pretty awesome. I use it when I'm bring Freda to my inlaws (so they don't find out that I'm okay with living in filth.)
So yeah, check it out. Das Furminator...it terminates fur...the fur will NOT be back...um...I'm done now.
