Keep your dog on a leash
I did promise a post on the top five dogs for active people, but I just wanted to write a quick note on the importance of keeping your dog on a leash.

Poor Freda got attacked by a very large Weimaraner yesterday. We were just walking around the apartment complex when a man taking his dog out to the car came out of his door. The dog wasn't on a leash. He saw Freda, ran up growling and then tackled her. Luckily, the owner call the dog off and Freda was fine. Unfortunately, this attack just confirms Freda's mild fear of other, large dogs.

So, if you can't control your dog, keep it on the leash. Not only is it the law in most areas, but you never know when another dog, person or child will be walking by.

Damn, I hate that. Even extremely well-behaved dogs can become excited by different animals, so leashes are a must.
